Because the same people who drew the Escaflowne movie did Heat Guy J

pff yeah

the resemblances were kind of ridiculous.  And then there was the pink-haired Hitomi chick and the other guy who was basically Dilandau in spirit, even though he looked different enough (although he basically had movie Dilandau’s face).

I still kinda dug Heat Guy J though, and should really finish it sometime.  It was like Esca Bebop.

YEAH.  >A>
It’s unfortunate, because I really can’t remember anything about him, and since I liked most things about FFX, I imagine he was a decently interesting character.  But yeah, all I remember is stupid hair and weird voice acting.  D:

I didn’t even know this could happen until I played the game for myself.
I was 20-something and it still ruined my day.

This musical is one of the only things that has made 20+ year old me cry.  I’m really not much of a crier.  in the past year i’ve cried a little bit more than usual, but still.

I was excited about this adaptation, but worried it would lack the punch.

but

my eyes were all watered by the end of this trailer.  Dx;;

PLEASE BE AS GOOD AS YOUR TRAILER.  D’:

FF VII 1/4
Cloud Strife

FFVII isn’t my favorite thing in the world, but I will show attention to any Cloud art that isn’t sparkling bishi.
—and is that a practical weapon I see?  I actually don’t care about the lack of practicality in the FF universe (it’s fantasy, what do you expect?), but it’s neat to see anyway.

i’m trying to learn to cook

you know, in baby steps.

I MADE MAC AND CHEESE TONIGHT.

i’d previously only done microwaveable pre-done kind.

I shouldn’t feel as accomplished as I do.  >A>

Seriously, VII isn’t even one of my favorites, and I still think they’re stupid to not remake it.  It’s not like it wouldn’t sell well.  I’d even get it.
FFX, on the other hand, is one of my favorites, and I think the HD remaster THIS SOON is so ridiculous.  D:  I’m really not interested in it at all.  How much better is it really going to look?

I can’t decide if this is an unpopular opinion or not

Because it seems like Castlevania LoS is equally loved and hated.

But…

*sigh*

I am okay with LoS existing.  It wasn’t my stylistic cup of tea, but I could dig that they wanted to attempt doing a “gritty” entry in the franchise.  Sure!  That is a fine thing to try.  And it was fun.

BUT

I do not want more of them.  >A>  I really don’t.  Simply because I worry that we’ll never get our vaguely tongue-in-cheek orchestral metal-laden hammy Castlevania back.  LoS was a nice experiment, but it’s not the Castlevania I love.  D:  Seriously, you can even keep the LoS-style gameplay and everything, just give me back my Goofyvania.  All the serious just made it less fun.  D’:

I had this weird urge to explore the Cheza tag.  Even though I sort of nitpicked Wolf’s Rain to death whenever I first watched it, Cheza remains as one of my favorite character designs.  (I guess I kind of liked her as a character too.  Normally I don’t like super innocent females, but eh, she wasn’t human anyway.)
Fairly simple and very alluring without being tasteless (even the boob window was tasteful!).  It generally suits her character very well, and the red hood she gets later on just looked perfect.  I’m surprised she doesn’t get drawn or cosplayed more often simply because of how much she stands out.  D:  I think it’s such a nice design~

As much as I know this would never happen, it is a lovely idea and I would get all of them.  D:  (Except XI, unless they decided to not have a monthly fee anymore.)

the.newtype.theory: The Wings of Honnêamise

thenewtypetheory:

Royal Space Force: The Wings of Honnêamise is a 1987 anime film directed by Hiroyuki Yamaga and animated by Gainax (Diebuster, Evangelion, Gurren Lagann).

I had an odd sense of nostalgia watching this tonight even though I had never seen this movie before. The designs and settings are…

Yes, Nausicaa.  That’s about what the art direction reminded me of.  In that regard, LOVED the art direction in this.  D:  Very unique-feeling anime film overall.  Like Gainax meets Ghibli (very old Gainax, though, which is a bit of a different animal from modern Gainax).

Sad that the sequel never happened.  I would’ve very much loved to have seen more stuff from this universe.  D:
